Rafail Boumpoucheropoulos wurde in Griechenland geboren, wo er seine frühe sportliche Laufbahn begann und seine wachsende Leidenschaft für Bewegung entdeckte. Er absolvierte eine Ausbildung an der Griechischen Staatlichen Tanzschule in Athen, der einzigen staatlichen professionellen Tanzinstitution Griechenlands. Nach seinem Abschluss trat er mit der Aerites Dance Company, der Hellenic Dance Company, der Wee Dance Company sowie der Tanzcompagnie Görlitz auf. Seine Grundlagen in zeitgenössischen und urbanen Tanzstilen machen ihn zu einem vielseitigen und dynamischen Performer. Er hat mit Choreografen wie Andonis Foniadakis, Robert Wilson und Mikhail Baryshnikov zusammengearbeitet, unterrichtet und betreut junge Tänzer:innen und leistet gleichzeitig einen aktiven Beitrag zur choreografischen Forschung und interdisziplinären Kreation. Er tanzt momentan in der Tanzcompagnie am Gerhart- Hauptmann Theater Görlitz- Zittau.
Rafail Boumpoucheropoulos was born in Greece, where an early athletic background complemented his growing passion for movement. He trained at the Greek State School of Dance in Athens, (Greece’s only state-run professional dance institution) After graduating, he went on to perform with Aerites Dance Company, Hellenic Dance Company, Wee Dance Company, and Tanzcompagnie Görlitz. His foundation in both contemporary and urban dance styles makes him a versatile and dynamic performer. Rafail has worked with choreographers such as Andonis Foniadakis, Robert Wilson, and Mikhail Baryshnikov, while also teaching and mentors young dancers, while actively contributing to choreographic research and interdisciplinary creation. Rafail currently dances with the dance company at the Gerhart Hauptmann Theater Görlitz-Zittau.
