Rigo Saura ist ein professioneller Tänzer, Choreograf und Pädagoge mit einer angesehenen Laufbahn in modernem und zeitgenössischem Tanz. Er ist Absolvent der National School of Modern and Contemporary Dance in Havanna, Kuba, und begann seine Karriere bei Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, wo er Werke renommierter Choreografen wie Mats Ek, Juan Kruz Díaz und Rafael Bonachela tanzte.
Im Jahr 2013 trat Rigo dem National Ballet of Ecuador als Solist bei und fungierte als Resident Choreographer für Ecuadors Urban Ballet. Während dieser Zeit unterrichtete er außerdem Komposition an der Metropolitan School of Art in Ecuador.
2017 zog Rigo nach Chicago, wo er als Gastkünstler, Dozent und Choreograf am Ruth Page Center for the Arts tätig wurde und mit renommierten Companies wie Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Chicago DanceWorks, Thodos Dance und Visceral Dance Chicago kooperierte. Von 2017 bis 2024 war er Tänzer, Lehrer, Resident Choreographer und Artistic Associate bei Hedwig Dances.
Zu seinen Auszeichnungen gehören die Auswahl für das L.A. Contemporary Choreography Lab und die Chicago DanceMakers Forum Production Residency am Ruth Page Center. Im Jahr 2022 wurde er als Gastchoreograf für das Links Hall Co-Mission Artist Program benannt, und 2023 wurde er zum Partner Artist in Residence bei High Concept Labs ernannt. Zudem hatte er die Position des Assistant Professor of Contemporary Dance and Composition an der Northwestern University inne.
Im Jahr 2025 wurde Rigo mit dem prestigeträchtigen Carlos Acosta Choreographic Fellowship für die Saison 2025–2026 ausgezeichnet. Derzeit verfolgt er einen Masterabschluss in Choreografie an der Palucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden, mit voraussichtlichem Abschluss im Jahr 2026.

Rigo Saura is a professional dancer, choreographer, and educator with a distinguished career in modern and contemporary dance. A graduate of the National School of Modern and Contemporary Dance in Havana, Cuba, he began his career with Danza Contemporánea de Cuba, performing works by renowned choreographers such as Mats Ek, Juan Kruz Díaz, and Rafael Bonachela.

From 2017 to 2024, he served as a dancer, teacher, resident choreographer, and Artistic Associate with Hedwig Dances.
