Knuth Jerxsen ist ein vielseitiger Perkussionist mit breiter künstlerischer Bandbreite und unverkennbarem Stil. Sein Weg begann mit lateinamerikanischer Perkussion an den Musikhochschulen in Hilversum, Arnheim und Rotterdam, was die Grundlage für seine rhythmische Ausdruckskraft legte.
Seine Laufbahn umfasst internationale Tourneen und Kooperationen mit José Carreras, Paul Kuhn, Andrea Berg, Santiano und Auftritte bei Events wie dem Deutschen Radiopreis mit Ray Garvey. Er trat international mit Künstlern wie Ute Freudenberg, den Höhnern, Bläck Fööss und Sylvia Vrethammar auf und wirkte an zahlreichen CD-Produktionen mit.
Seine Vielseitigkeit zeigt sich in genreübergreifenden Projekten (z. B. Zoomachine mit Larry Carlton, Marcus Scheltinga und Frank Kirchner) sowie Produktionen von Voodoo Circle, The Gasby Project und Leaves Eyes. Im TV/Medienbereich war er unter anderem bei der Live-Performance von United Voices mit Boy George zum Eurovision Song Contest 2022 dabei.
Als Komponist entstanden Werke für die Bonner Oper und das Tanztheater Kassel; Musiktitel wie Ester, Judith und Nachtschwärmer für das Theater Bielefeld setzen musikalische Akzente. Als Pädagoge unterrichtete er u. a. an der Hochschule der Bundeswehr Hilden, in Wuppertal, Mailand; seit mehreren Jahren ist er Dozent an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
Aktuell engagiert er sich in Projekten wie der CD-Produktion von Günter Asbeck und der DocEsser-Roadshow 2024/2025. Zudem wirkt er bei Workshops, Festivals, Musikmessen, Ruhrfestspielen, Sprechwerk Hamburg, Gomusic-Konzerte, Beats and Noises sowie Disneyworld-Shows mit.
